So, who is this ‘Amie Wren’?
So, who is this ‘Amie Wren’?
We’re so glad you asked.
Amie Wren is a British composer and performer, with an incredibly niche Bachelor of Music degree from Berklee College of Music in Film and Media composition, and a specialisation in Musical Theatre Writing.
Before that, she was an amateur DJ, opening Amsterdam’s ‘Open Air’ festival at just seventeen years old.
Amie’s love of music started with the violin, which she returned home with, aged four, much to her parents’ dismay. She went on to try her hand at several more instruments, including the guitar, bass guitar, drums, piano and saxophone. Upon discovering she couldn’t play an entire rhythm section by herself, Amie pivoted to composing.
She has now worked on three student musicals, seven student short films, and is an occasional songwriter to boot. Amie loves to incorporate her British roots into her music, combining theatrical and orchestral elements with her love for traditional folk music.
When she’s not being all musical, Amie can be found reading voraciously, attempting to sew her own clothes or thinking about committing to a consistent exercise schedule.
Oh, and, Amie’s real name is Amelia Warren. She releases all her music under the pseudonym ‘Amie Wren’, so if you’re so inclined, and she hopes that you are, that’s where you’ll find all her scores, songs and soundtracks.
